What does each applicant need to bring to a mobile event?
Each applicant needs to bring:
- A completed Request for Live Scan Service form (BCIA 8016) for their specific background check need
- A valid, unexpired government issued photo I.D.
If an applicant does not have a valid California Driver’s License or ID Card, they must provide one Primary and one Secondary form of identification. All identification documents must be original. Photocopies and digital images are not accepted.

What forms of ID are accepted?
A valid, unexpired government issued photo I.D. is accepted for a Live Scan. If you do not have a valid California Driver’s License or ID Card, you must provide one Primary and one Secondary form of identification. All identification documents must be original. Photocopies and digital images are not accepted.

Can I use an expired ID?
No. Expired identification is not accepted.
How much does Mobile Live Scan cost?
Mobile Live Scan pricing is built around three factors: group size, the Originating Agency Identifier (ORI) used for the background check, and the event scope (single visit vs. recurring). Capital Live Scan invoices the rolling fee directly. Government fees are passed through per applicant at California DOJ posted rates. Request a quote for your specific event. How do payments work for mobile events?
For organizations, we typically invoice after the event. ACH and business card payment are accepted. For smaller events or per-applicant billing, cash and card may be available depending on event setup.
